How much do you tip at a spa (my mom wants to know)?
It's for a manicure and pedicure package.

- I would typically always give the 20% unless they were tremendous and you want to give a little more. I would never tip lower than that unless the service was terrible. It is similar to what you would tip in a restaurant.
- 15% tip is fine, unless the service was outstanding or absolutely terrible.
- The status quo is 15-20% for average service. You can adjust it accordingly to the degree of service. Less for bad service or more for fantastic service. Keep in mind that there may be more than one person performing a treatment. There may be a massuse, then someone for the facial, one for the aroma therapy ect. So keep in that in mind as it can get expensive if that is the case. If all esle fails it is not bad form to ask the front desk what the tipping procedures are. They may have a tip pool where all the tips are collected from the day and are distributed equally among the employees.
- I tip 20% if I am seeing my regular person or someone else who did a really good job. I will tip 10-15% to someone who did a mediocre job.
