I own a salon, with IC and booth rentals. We offer gift cards, how do I distribute the cash at the end?

We sell the gift cards as an all day spa package. How do I divide the money when the client redeems them? Does anyone have policys for this?

1. Contact one of the cosmetology schools in your area. They should be able to give you advice on how to distribute funds and what the going percentage rates for distribution to your stylists are. I hope that helps. :-)
2. When the gift cards are purchased, the funds go into a separate income account. The funds stay there until the gift cards are redeemed. At the time they are redeemed, the service providers receive their portion on a percentage basis of the total cost that they provided. If the gift cards are for fixed services, then the participating service providers should agree in advance on what they will charge for the service.
